Textures of stone and grout,
loose cotton and linen,
shutters painted in greens and blue,
wood aged by salt.
Purple Bougineanvillea.
The Aleppo Pines shade calls,
“stay a while.”
Figs sticky with yellow.
Cicadas sing
“glory is this place.”
Shimmer, shimmer, shimmer laps the sea.
“Allow me” murmurs the wind to the sails.
Sun
rich and deep
bleaching everything in its path;
crowned king for a day.
