Almaty, Kazakstan

ree

The best part about Almaty is how many parks there are. Every 2 minutes there is another park. There are also alot of malls. The closest one to us is Samall mall. There is also a super a good bus system that costs 22 cents for one ticket. The main reason we came to Almaty was to participate in a pop up hub. The hub lasted 1 week, we climbed a mountain, saw glaciers, rode a cable car, and we went to Ascension Cathedral. the cathedral is the second largest wooden building built without nails. Inside the Cathedral are some relics like teeth and hair of Saints.

One type of meat we tried here is horse meat, it tastes just like beef. I just started rereading Harry Potter. I miss my dogs SO MUCH! The city is very dusty. It dosent feel dirty but after you are done playing for a while your feet are black. Overall I liked Almaty and would go Back.

Almaty onomatopoeia:

Vroom goes the cars.

Splish splash goes the creek.

Phishhhhh goes the bus brakes

I go wheee when i  ride the roller car.

Chirp, tweet goes the birds that woke me up at 5 am every darn day

Spring sproing goes the trampolines at the mall

Tick tock goes the clock

About Wide Horizons

What if we found the mute button on the cultural messaging around hustle and money being the only currency to respect/strive for. What if we spent a year listening to other messages from humanity? What if we experienced ourselves outside our bubble of privilege? What if we shared a moment of togetherness in this finite space of childhood.   Our idea to “world school” was born from a year of asking what really matters to us in this moment of time. We realized that while nothing in life is guaranteed that we currently have an abundance of privilege. Health, savings, a home support system, a love for one another and a deep desire to create meaningful experiences together gave us the courage to say yes to this project.
